With a free Certified Product Technician training program and a fully upgraded welding lab, Hillsborough Community College is ready to put even more people on the path a successful manufacturing career.
Hillsborough County residents or companies can now complete MSSC CPT training and certification free of charge at HCC, thanks to a new program funded by the Manufacturing Alliance of Hillsborough County. Beginning January 30th and ending April 10th, the training program is delivered live online twice a week for four hours each session. Students who complete the credential demonstrate their knowledge of the basics of manufacturing and obtain 15 college credits to apply toward HCC’s Engineering Technology degree—all at no cost. For more information, contact Andrew Kovtun.
The newly renovated welding lab at HCC’s Ybor City Training Center can now accommodate 50% more students for the popular Welding Technology program. Now, the College can train up to 72 new people per year for one of the most in-demand positions in manufacturing. Here’s a closer look at why welding offers such strong career potential.
